How To Install Synthetic Grass Like A Professional By Yourself

How do I work out how many pins I will need during the installation of my Synthetic Grass?
In order to secure the turf to the ground during installation you will need to use special synthetic grass pins which are driven into the base to secure the turf. On average as a rule of thumb you will require 1 pin every 50cm along the perimeter and 1 pin every 30cm along the join to reinfors it, and also a few anchoring pins in zig zag motion through the middle part.
Now this is the minimum averege you will need for the project but do take in concideration that this pins and the sand infill are the only things that will be holding your fake lawn down for many years to come through all sort of weather so I recomend the more the batter.
Installation Accessories That You Will Need For Your DIY Project.
1. Stanley Knife with a new blade. (Please get the one that the tradesperson uses not the flimsy ones from the office)
2. U Shaped synthetic Grass Pins. These pins are used as anchors to pin and anchor the grass down to the crusher rock sub base to secure it in place.
3. Joining / Seaming Tape. You will find there are two types of joining tape for synthetic grass Self Adhesive (no glue needed) more expensive but cleaner and faster to use.
And Non Self Adhesive Tape cheaper and the bigger the project and the more joints you will need to do the more economical it becomes (glue will be needed), 1L will cover aprox.4sq/m or will be enough for aprox.20 linier meters of non adhesive tape depending on its width. Now which one you will need for your project I suggest will be decided by the size of your project and budget you have allocated.
4. Infill Sand. Now from professional installation point of view we recommend Kiln Dried Silica Specialty Sand, because it comes nice and dry and that makes it an easier and faster sand to use as well as because of its high density it takes a much longer time for it to get washed out by the rains and that is good from the maintenance point of view.
But if for some reason you cannot get it than use the White washed sand or Play sand that’s Ok as well.
Now how much sand infill you will need will really depend on the type, style, pile height and density of the grass you have decided to get as well as the overall size of your project. (As a rule of thumb you want your infill level to be no higher than half the length of the grass fibbers for example if your chosen grass strands are 4cm high than you want your infill to be about 2cm deep).
5. Flat Tip Shovel.
6. Garden Brush. A good stiff bristled plastic outdoor /garden brush. You will need it to brush the infill in to the sand and to give the grass a really good brushing as a finishing touch from all sides and I mean 360 degrees so it really looks good as well as you will need to use it in the future for maintenance to introduce more sand when needed and to give it a good brushing from time to time especially in the heavy traffic areas.
7. Synthetic grass glue; Only to be used if you have chosen to use the Non Adhesive Joining Tape or if you are installing on a hard solid base sub structure like decking, concrete or any other solid base as long as it is not dirt or send based think of it this way glue will not stick to dust or dirt.
8. A vibrating wacker plate;
You will only need this tool if you are installing on a crusher rock crusher dust sub structure. You will need to use this plate to compact the crusher dust and rock in to a stabilised hard smooth surfaced sub structure to install your synthetic grass on. You can rent it from any equipment hire place.

*Please note, a natural consequence of a roll of turf is the look of creases due to compression in packing and delivery. However, the creases will naturally straighten out after a few hot sunny days after laying the turf.
To make it easier for you to install the turf, it is recommended to unroll the rolls and leave them unrolled for a couple of days, which will help the turf relax and straighten out. Furthermore, infill helps to secure the integrity of the strand.

No Worries Turf SYNTHETIC GRASS products warranty is valid for a period of 10 years from the date of purchase (Excludes 10mm Multi-Purpose Grass, and Games tables Warranty of which is only valid for 12 months) against defects in materials, including ultraviolet degradation and excessive fading.
No Worries Turf will repair or replace, as it deems necessary, those materials which exhibit such defects resulting from ultra-violet degradation and excessive fading.
No Worries Turf does not warrant against normal wear and tear, or matting. Cleaning and grooming maintenance is the responsibility of the consumer. No Worries Turf also does not warrant damage caused by animals, improper use, neglect, lack of maintenance, vandalism, floods, change in the water table, animal waste or other acts of mother- nature.
THIS WARRANTY specifically does not obligate No Worries Turf in any way regarding material applied or labor performed. Installation and/or labor warranties are exclusively between the consumer and the installation company. This warranty must be presented with a dated installation contract to verify the lifespan.
Please note, delivery fees are not covered by warranty. Warranty applies to the manufacturing fault of the product only. The buyer will be responsible for all freight/delivery charges if the replacement of the faulty product is required.
GAMES TABLES WARRANTY IS 12 Months.
Incorrect Product
Please contact No Worries Turf within 48 hours of receipt of the product for replacement. Verification will be required which may or may not include requests for photographic support.
Unauthorized Returns / Refused Shipments
Refused shipments are considered unauthorized returns and are subject to a 30% restocking fee. Freight charges are non-refundable.
Damage in Transit
The customer, or customer's agent, must be present at the time of delivery to carefully inspect all packages and items for damage or missing materials. If there are missing items or damage it must be clearly noted, at the time of the delivery, by the customer on the original bill of lading/consignment note. Immediately contact No Worries Turf and send copies of the bill of lading/consignment note. At discretion and upon acceptance of the claim by the carrier, No Worries Turf will send a replacement item(s) or refund the damages.
IF DAMAGE OR PARTIAL LOSS IS NOT NOTED AT TIME OF DELIVERY AND ON THE ORIGINAL BILL OF LADING, THE CUSTOMER MUST FILE THE CLAIM DIRECTLY WITH THE CARRIER. DO NOT DISCARD DAMAGED ITEMS. THE CARRIER WILL REQUIRE THE SALVAGE PRIOR TO PROCESSING THE CLAIM. DO NOT REFUSE DAMAGED/MISSING ITEM SHIPMENTS WITHOUT PRIOR APPROVAL OF NO WORRIES TURF DOING SO WILL CONSTITUTE AN UNAUTHORIZED RETURN.
All consignments are sent out and signed for in good order and condition. We do understand that the receiver/customers cannot always inspect all the goods prior to signing for them. However, we do need you our client/receiver of these goods to report any damages to us within 24 hours of receipt. This way all parties are protected by Insurance and we all can avoid any embarrassing and disappointing situations. Otherwise, all damages reported after this period of time will not be covered by Insurance at all.
We take issues with damages very seriously and are always focusing on ways to ensure they do not happen. We do this through training of dock loading staff and also by continually looking at our systems and how we can improve what we do.
The last thing we want is to have a disappointed customer. We want to ensure we provide you with the best possible service we can with the resources we have available so these bad situations can be avoided, and where they do occur, that it's a painless process to resolve.
Assuming that the goods are subject to an appropriate domestic/household policy of insurance taken out by you our customers as part of your home and property insurance, we respectfully suggest that you promptly lodge a claim with your insurer.
